Our prices depend on your family member’s medical condition, type of room, and level of care. We must first evaluate each case to give you a quote appropriate to your needs.

We must evaluate the case and room to choose. We recommend that you do not bring pets with you.

Our care service is collective, and our nurses are distributed on the floor day by day for the care of our Residents. If you want your family member to have their own nurse, there is an additional cost.

Yes, at Casa de los Ángeles there is a 24/7 nursing service.

We offer care from a geriatric specialist who will craft a comprehensive medical plan adjusted to your loved one’s situation. In addition, we have the services of other specialists in out-of-home clinics if necessary.

Of course. One step in your loved one’s intake process is to obtain and continue information about their medical conditions and the treatments prescribed. If our doctor considers making changes or modifications to your treatment, you will be notified.

We accept older adults with Alzheimer’s-type dementia, vascular and mixed dementia (Alzheimer’s and vascular) and who are in FAST stages 4 and above. We also accept older adults with sequelae of stroke and other related conditions (see our admission policies).

We accept older adults with the dementias previously described who present behavioral symptoms of their condition, except for those cases that present aggressiveness. In addition, the administration of antipsychotic drugs will not be common, and is limited to those cases where behavioral treatment is not efficient.

Yes, we accept residents who have lost mobility, who are in a wheelchair, bedridden or with gait problems secondary to previous medical problems.

Casa de los Ángeles has the capacity, including the equipment and the nursing staff, to attend to basic to medium level emergencies. We also work with Alerta Medica which is a first contact group in Guatemala when there is a need for emergency response and transfer. However, in cases where more intensive care may be required (invasive procedures, orotracheal intubation, surgical intervention, long-term intravenous treatments, among others), the Resident will be transferred with the prior consent of the Resident’s family member and/or responsible person to a first-level hospital in Guatemala City. Should your family member require an operation, they can return to Casa de los Angeles following recovery and we can then follow up with rehabilitation. At Casa de los Ángeles we are aware that dementia is a progressive deterioration and for this reason we are aware of the end-of-life situation, its care and accompaniment. (See Admission Contract for Options and Costs.)

If you wish, your family member can continue to attend the visits of their usual family doctor and/or specialists. However, at Casa de los Ángeles we have Geriatricians and other specialists certified in contracted clinics. (See Admission Contract for Options and Costs.)
